Report 024 - [Voice Post]

I'm glad the PCDs are working again. This makes things easier.

[She pauses a moment, her voice hesitant when she speaks again.]

And I suppose I should wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day.

[Yep, she's been on the network, doing a little bit of research out of curiosity.]

[She followed him, reaching out a hand toward the jacket, but pulled it back at the last minute. She didn't want to accidentally poke Le-Squall in the back.]

[Reaching the top of the stairs, Squall turned to his right. He paused a moment with his hand on the doorknob as if asking permission to go in, and then opened the door.

This bedroom seems airy, and in front of them against the wall was a wooden sleigh bed covered with blue satin sheets. Two windows near the bed were framed with light blue curtains and overlooked the yard.

To their left was a fireplace with a stuffed lion and a stuffed wolf on the mantle. To their right was a dresser and a closet.

There was an unmistakable note of pride in his voice.]

This is the master bedroom. The first room in this house that I finished.

[She smiled when she saw the room. It was very nice, a lot more decorated than her room, which was just a simple bed and dresser, but she wasn't jealous.]

It looks comfy. You did a very nice job.

[Now that they were on solid ground, she reached out to pet the back of the fuzzy collar of his coat, just a few light brushes of her hand.]

[Squall smiled.]

[They left that room and Squall shut the door behind them. He thought he felt her hand on his coat, but had his back turned so he wasn't going to make an issue out of it.

He went don the small hallway to the door on the opposite side. He opened the door, and this room was a lot..plainer. Facing them was a bed with white covers on it. It was a big bed like the other one, but had a window with long curtains behind it.

The layout was the same as far as the fireplace, dresser and closet. A stuffed lion and wolf sat on the mantle of this fireplace as well.]

This is my room.

[When he announced this room was his, an eyebrow quirked. But then on second thought, it wasn't much of a surprise.]

Man of simple tastes, then? Still, you did a good job.

[Squall shook his head.]

Thanks. I didn't..I didn't intend..the other room is the master bedroom. I don't..I don't feel like that's.."

[He shook his head again, and headed down the stairs muttering something about coffee getting cold.]

[...What? She watched him descend the stairs for a few seconds and then let it go. If he didn't want to talk about, she wouldn't make him. She had secrets to keep, too.]

Once they reached the bottom of the stairs, Riza hesitantly hugged him from behind. Sure, the jacket was there and that was perfectly fine, but there was still a Squall underneath. This was problematic.]

Do you wear this all the time?

[He made it down to the bottom of the stairs and then felt..was that..was Riza hugging him?? He was having a hard time trying to figure this woman out because she was so..out of character. He stopped trying to move at her question.]

Ya..it's my jacket

[He turned around to face her, placing his gloved hands on her arms and looked her right in the eyes.]

Riza...are you..alright?

[This was not going well. Maybe love made people do crazy things, wasn't that a saying? Riza wouldn't know. This was teh first time she was in love, or at least she was sure of it...]

Of course. What makes you say that?

[She then turned her attention back to the coat, lightly running her fingers down the front panels, and whispered...]

You mean so much to me.

You're just acting..odd.

[He didn't want to say weird, but that's what he honestly thought. His face went three shades of pale when he heard her next words. Her voice was like she was whispering to a lover.]

Riza..Riza you're with the Colonel, remember?

I am? Mabye I ate something.

The Colonel? Oh, no. I believe his affections lie with a book.

[The first thought to pass through Squall's mind was the coffee, but he wasn't acting..like this.

This was getting stranger and stranger by the minute with her, especially when she said the thing about Roy and having affection for a book.]

How can Roy have affection for a book Riza? And you either have some sort of fixation with me, or my coat..

[His tone didn't imply he honestly thought she had a thing for his jacket.]

How can anyone have affection for anything?

[He eyes widened at the idea of being in love with Squall.]

Squall, I...I think you're a wonderful person, but...

[She reached out to touch the front of the coat again.]

You're not this.

[His eyes narrowed at the affection comment. When her eyes widened, he watched her very carefully. Relief flooded through him when he realized it wasn't him she was after, but then he shook his head. She had a thing for his..coat? Really?

To make sure she meant what she was saying he took his hands off of her and took off his jacket, handing it to her.]

[She smiled when he took off the coat and gingerly took it, hugging it to her chest.]

There, we're together now.

[Squall didn't know whether or not to laugh, but he simply sat down, relieved he knew what the situation was. It didn't solve anything, but at least he knew she was after his jacket, and he could honestly live with that. That jacket wasn't leaving the house however.]

[She also sat down, laying the coat beside her and resting a hand on it.]

I am sorry for the confusion, Squall.

[He shook his head.]

Confusion is fine..but..how long have you had..a thing for my coat?

To be honest, I can't put a date on it. I just know that I care for him very much.

[Yeah, she just gave the coat a sex. Have fun with that.]

[Squall nodded. This just..if he didn't see it with his own eyes, there'd be absolutely no way he'd ever believe this was happening.]

So the coat is male..I see.

[She chuckled.]

Something like that.

[He shook his head. This wasn't making any sense at all. Without another word, he grabbed Riza's empty coffee cup and refilled it. Was it..was it the animus? Was this another event week? He poked his head around the corner at Riza.]

Hey Riza..when was the last time we had an event?

[She had been drawing circles with her fingers on the coat when Squall's head made an appearance.]

Oh, let me think. ...End of January, I believe.

[A smile and a nod.]
