I'm glad the PCDs are working again. This makes things easier.

[She pauses a moment, her voice hesitant when she speaks again.]

And I suppose I should wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day.

[That gaze and question took her a little by surprise, as well.]

The same as always. He just finished the addition the house in case we need to house anyone else or take some of the pressure off Miss Unohana's shoulders. I've stayed inside for the most part, unless there's been trouble outside.

[She picked up her mug and took another sip.]

[At that reply, Riza got a confused look.]

Unohana is having trouble keeping up with all of the newcomers? There isn't enough room or something there at the clinic?

Not that I know of, but the clinic is only so big. If we can help, then we'll do what we can.

[Squall lowered his head. That reminded him of Rosalie Hale's departure. He took a sip of his coffee thoughtfully.]

I see.

Have you heard anything more about our plans to meet to discuss the city? It seems everything went quiet on it recently.

[Squall half laughed.]

Funny you should ask..

I talked with a..person from the Leaf Village about that and Mustang. I've told both to contact the other, so I hope this gets underway soon.

Roy mentioned to me today that he wanted to have an open meeting, so we'll see what happens with that. But in the Spring a Hyuuga Neji and I are working on getting the water working in the other three quadrants.

I still have to bring up getting the electricity to Doom. Today wasn't a good time I think.

[He shrugged.]

The sooner this all gets started the better.

[All these names she didn't recognize...and then she felt her gaze slipping to look back at the coat. This was going well. At least Leon seemed to be on top of things.]

It sounds like a start. Let's just hope we can get past that and actually do something.

[Another shrug.]

Doesn't matter..I'll still do what I can on my own. I suppose..I suppose I haven't changed much that way.

There's nothing wrong with being driven, Leon.

[Squall looked up from his coffee mug and half laughed, but it was at himself.]

Driven..? Is that what people call it?

[She takes another sip.]

That's one word.

[A smirk.]

I suppose. Did you want to take a look upstairs to see if it passes this..driven opinion?

[And a smirk in return.]

Only if Master Leon is comfortable with prying eyes.

[Squall put a hand to his head and could feel the blush forming on his face.]

Master..

[At the mention of that name..well..that was going to end now. He stood up and looked at her.]

Call me Squall. That's..my real name.

[Oh my. She hoped he understood teasing. He did have teasing in his world, right?

Oh, that was interesting.]

All right. Squall it is.

[Squall nodded at her using his real name and started up the stairs.]

Come on..

[She followed him, reaching out a hand toward the jacket, but pulled it back at the last minute. She didn't want to accidentally poke Le-Squall in the back.]

[Reaching the top of the stairs, Squall turned to his right. He paused a moment with his hand on the doorknob as if asking permission to go in, and then opened the door.

This bedroom seems airy, and in front of them against the wall was a wooden sleigh bed covered with blue satin sheets. Two windows near the bed were framed with light blue curtains and overlooked the yard.

To their left was a fireplace with a stuffed lion and a stuffed wolf on the mantle. To their right was a dresser and a closet.

There was an unmistakable note of pride in his voice.]

This is the master bedroom. The first room in this house that I finished.

[She smiled when she saw the room. It was very nice, a lot more decorated than her room, which was just a simple bed and dresser, but she wasn't jealous.]

It looks comfy. You did a very nice job.

[Now that they were on solid ground, she reached out to pet the back of the fuzzy collar of his coat, just a few light brushes of her hand.]

[Squall smiled.]

[They left that room and Squall shut the door behind them. He thought he felt her hand on his coat, but had his back turned so he wasn't going to make an issue out of it.

He went don the small hallway to the door on the opposite side. He opened the door, and this room was a lot..plainer. Facing them was a bed with white covers on it. It was a big bed like the other one, but had a window with long curtains behind it.

The layout was the same as far as the fireplace, dresser and closet. A stuffed lion and wolf sat on the mantle of this fireplace as well.]

This is my room.

[When he announced this room was his, an eyebrow quirked. But then on second thought, it wasn't much of a surprise.]

Man of simple tastes, then? Still, you did a good job.

[Squall shook his head.]

Thanks. I didn't..I didn't intend..the other room is the master bedroom. I don't..I don't feel like that's.."

[He shook his head again, and headed down the stairs muttering something about coffee getting cold.]

[...What? She watched him descend the stairs for a few seconds and then let it go. If he didn't want to talk about, she wouldn't make him. She had secrets to keep, too.]

Once they reached the bottom of the stairs, Riza hesitantly hugged him from behind. Sure, the jacket was there and that was perfectly fine, but there was still a Squall underneath. This was problematic.]

Do you wear this all the time?

[He made it down to the bottom of the stairs and then felt..was that..was Riza hugging him?? He was having a hard time trying to figure this woman out because she was so..out of character. He stopped trying to move at her question.]

Ya..it's my jacket

[He turned around to face her, placing his gloved hands on her arms and looked her right in the eyes.]

Riza...are you..alright?
